Agartala,09,12,14(ANE):Prime Minister Narendra Modi said that the further discussion on Planning Commission would be held if required in future, said Chief Minister Manik Sarkar on Monday here at the secretariat.
While speaking to the media persons on Monday at the secretariat Chief Minister Manik Sarkar said that during the PM Modi and Chief Ministers meeting on Sunday at Delhi, he had urged Modi to continue the 5 year planning and the Chief Ministers of every state should be placed as an ex-officio member of the Planning Commission committee on a rotational basis and every chief Ministers including the Chief Minister of West Bengal should have a tenure of at least 2 years in the committee.
Planning Commission is basically an economic planning of the country and is linked to Nationhood. Therefore it should be a strong and an autonomous body, said Chief Minister Manik Sarkar. He also said that the planning should be from the top to bottom.
